Born July 7th, 1944 in Naha, Okinawa. Master Yagi Meitatsu, the oldest son of Grandmaster Yagi Meitoku, is the past president of the Okinawa Gojyu-kai and president of the International Meibu-kai.
When asked about different styles and versions of karate, he responds, “All karate is like a tree. The roots are the same though some of the branches grow differently. Some are strong and some are weak. Some bend with nature, while others break. We do not criticize them, we just say that like the branches on a tree, they are different.”
